MINERAL MAKEUP

The Newest Trend in Beauty

MINERAL+MAKEUP

Mineral makeup is all the rage right now but does this makeup live up the hype? Is it worth the extra price or is it just a fad that will soon fade? I recently got the chance to try out one of the top mineral makeup brands and test it out for myself. Bareminerals Ready SPF 20 is a top selling foundation that is mineral based. The product is sold at Sephora and Ulta Beauty Store. The main draw of this foundation, and mineral makeup, is the products that you will not find in the ingredients list. There are no preservatives, parabens, oil, or wax. This is why many believe that Bareminerals foundation is better for your skin. It is best suited for those with oily or acne prone skin. There are many other mineral foundations currently being sold such as Bare Essentials. This is Bareminerals main competition. The Bareminerals foundation is packaged in a plastic bottle and comes in a wide variety of skin shades. I tried #7 Natural Beige and was impressed at how perfectly it matched my skin tone. The price per bottle is $27.00 but it should last about two months with daily use. The foundation squirts out of the bottle and is very easily spread onto the face. It’s as if the foundation sinks into your skin! It gives a really natural finish and felt light on my face. The added SPF 20 gives just enough sunscreen to be able to skip the extra step of adding sunscreen to your face. One of the biggest shortfalls of this foundation is that it wore off within several hours. It did not last all day like the brand claims it will. Instead you will need to reapply at least twice a day to give your skin that flawless coverage. Also, at the price of $27.oo per bottle, the cost of foundation could be outside many women’s budget. There might be a suitable alternative mineral foundation on the market cheaper than Bareminerals or maybe it could just be used as a special occasion makeup. The overall quality of Bareminerals foundation is above par. The selection of colors and the light airy feel on one’s skin is the reason this foundation is a top mineral makeup seller.
