COZUMEL, MÉXICO

Chocolate and Churches

Over the summer my family and I went to Cozumel, Mexico, for about a day. It was incredible, we went to the Mayan Cacao Company (chocolate factory), an adorable church, a tequila factory (but that was more for my mom), and the shopping center.

The Mayan Cacao Company was an incredible learning experience. We were taught how the Mayan found cocoa powder from a cocoa bean, which came from a cacao tree. We were able to try chocolate without any ingredients, such as sugar. Honestly, it was pretty bitter.

I wasn’t able to do much at the tequila factory or the church. The shopping center was exciting though. All the sales people were very kind. I spent most my time watching my aunt bring down the price on a pair of earrings, which was pretty entertaining.
