Erik Jones (20) and Kyle Larson (42) battling for lead at Charlotte

Kyle Larson dominated the Drive For The Cure 300 at Charlotte on Sunday, but in the end, it was Joey Logano in Victory Lane.  Larson led 165 of the 200 laps, and at one point, was the only car on the lead lap, but a restart on lap 183 lost him the race.  Larson was closing on Logano before he hit the wall on lap 197, falling to 4th.  For Logano, it was his 2nd win of the season.  “We had a good car–maybe not the best car…but the pit crew did their job to keep us in position to make an awesome restart there at the end,” Logano said in Victory Lane.  The Chase field was reduced to eight, with one driver who has been a championship contender, and should’ve made it to the final round, getting eliminated.  That driver was Ty Dillon.  “It’s heartbreaking,” said Dillon.  “We’re a team that should’ve been in the final round.  You’ve got to expect things to happen, which happened in the first race at Kentucky…But you’ve got to be able to rebound if you’re going to win a championship.”  The drivers advancing are Daniel Suarez, Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, Erik Jones, Brendan Gaughan, Ryan Reed, Blake Koch, and Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr.  Eliminated were Ty Dillon, Brennan Poole, Ryan Sieg, and Brandon Jones.
