Christopher Bell (18) making his race-winning move on Erik Jones (20)

Christopher Bell, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series superstar, took his first Xfinity Series win on Saturday after passing teammate Erik Jones with 4 laps to go.  Bell did a slide job on Jones, but had to check up big time, and Jones slammed into the back of Bell because of his frustration with Bell’s move.  It allowed Bell to get away as a result of Jones front end damage from running into the back of Bell.  “It’s not dirt racing,” Jones complained, referencing Bell’s dirt-track background. “He’s not clear. I can’t just stop on the top. I didn’t expect him to drive in on the bottom so hard he wouldn’t be able to hold his lane.”  Jones led a race-high 186 laps out of the total 200, but couldn’t hold off Bell.  “I never want to wreck anyone, especially my teammate,” Bell said. “I don’t know. My spotter said ‘Clear.’ I drove it in really deep. I felt like I cleared him.  I don’t know.  It’s my first XFINITY win. I’m sorry that Erik didn’t finish the race, but, man, I’m just stoked. This thing was awesome. To be able to win in the XFINITY Series is something I dreamed of as a kid. We were both on old tires. We were sliding around.”

Daniel Hemric had a tough day after suffering a one-lap penalty because his crew serviced his car outside his pit box.  He finished 18th, 1 lap down.  Cole Custer also had a tough day, having to come to pit road with 2 to go because of a cut tire and finished 19th.  Fourth, which is Brennan Poole, and eighth, which is Custer, are only seperated by 8 points.  The next Xfinity Series race is November 4th at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth at 7:30 PM.  If you can’t come to the race, it will be on NBCSN.
