These Seasonal Recipes Will Kick Your Taste Buds Into Gear!

Are you guys ready for the Fall Season? A lot of us are stuck at home with COVID-19 and are bored out of our minds. With nothing to do and this wonderful season coming around, some of us feel like we just might as well do nothing. But don’t let that funk bring you down! Why not try something new during your Winter Break? Below are some of my grandmother’s fun, tasty recipes to make with your family:

 

Butter Bundt Cake Recipe

When you try the “Butter Bundt Cake”, you’ll not only enjoy making this delicious cake for you and your family, but you’ll get an amazing taste afterwards! Not to mention, this is also a great present for a cake loving enthusiast.

WARNING: May contain Ingredients that could cause Allergic Reactions. Pan or Oven may burn, be sure to have Parental Supervision

Ingredients for Cake

  1. 1 cup of Unsalted Butter, softened
  2. 2 cups of Brown Sugar
  3. ½ cup of White Sugar
  4. 5 Eggs
  5. 2 tablespoons of Vanilla Extract
  6. 2 cups of Flower
  7. 2 tablespoons of Baking Powder
  8. ½ tablespoons of Salt
  9. ½ cup of Buttermilk

 

Ingredients for Glaze

  1. ½ cup of Butter, softened
  2. ½ cup of Brown Sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons of Corn Syrup
  4. 2 tablespoons of Heavy Cream
  5. ½ cup of Chopped Pecans

 

 

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your Oven to 350 degrees, Fahrenheit
  2. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of Unsalted Butter, 2 cups of Brown Sugar, and the White Sugar together
  3. Add the Eggs, making sure to add one at a time and mix the cake batter in-between each Egg (this makes the “Creamed Mixture”)
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the Flower, Baking Powder, and Salt together (this makes the “Dry Ingredients Mixture”)
  5. Add the Buttermilk and the Vanilla to the “Creamed Mixture” and mix
  6. Now add the “Dry Ingredients Mixture” to the “Creamed Mixture” and mix. (this makes the “Cake Batter”)
  7. Put the “Cake Batter” in a greased Bundt Cake pan and put the pan into the Oven
  8. Set the timer for 45 minutes
  9. When the timer goes off, check the cake. If it is not done, set the timer for 15 minutes
  10. When the timer goes off, check the cake. If it is not done, make sure to check the cake every 5 minutes until it is done.
  11. Once the cake is baked, take it out of the Oven, and let cool 
  12. Take it out of the pan, and put it on a plate
  13. Get another bowl and add ½ cup of Butter, ½ cup of Brown Sugar, 2 tablespoons of Corn Syrup, 2 tablespoons of Heavy Cream, and ½ cup of Chopped Pecans and mix (this makes the “Glaze”)
  14. Get out a Stove Pan and put it on the stove
  15. Turn on the Stove and pour in the “Glaze” on the pan
  16. Boil the mixture for about 3 minutes
  17. Pour on the Glaze you made on the cake
  18. Let cool, and then enjoy!

Sweet Potato Casserole

Don’t forget about the “Sweet Potato Casserole” though! This sweet, gooey casserole is an amazing side and will leave your taste buds loving it for hours!

Ingredients for Base

  1. 3 cups of Fresh Mashed Sweet Potato (about 3 Sweet Potatoes)
  2. 1 cup of White Sugar
  3. ½ tablespoon of Salt
  4. 2 Eggs
  5. ½ cup of Butter, melted
  6. ½ cup of Milk
  7. 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  8. 1 ½ tablespoons of Cinnamon
  9. ¾ tablespoons of Nutmeg

 

Ingredients for Top

  1. 1 cup of Brown Sugar
  2. 1 cup of Chopped Pecans
  3. 1/3 cup of Flower
  4. 1/3 cup of Butter, softened
  5. 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon
  6. ¼ teaspoon of Nutmeg

 

 

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your Oven to 350 degrees, Fahrenheit
  2. Mix the Mashed Sweet Potatoes, White Sugar, Salt, Eggs, Melted Butter, Milk, Vanilla Extract, 1 ½ tablespoons of Cinnamon, and ¾ tablespoons of Nutmeg together (this makes the “Base Mixture”)
  3. Pour the “Base Mixture” into a Greased Baking Dish
  4. Mix the Brown Sugar, Chopped Pecans, Flower, Softened Butter, 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon, and ¼ teaspoon of Nutmeg together until it has crumbly texture (this makes the Top Mixture”)
  5. Put the “Top Mixture” on top of the “Base Mixture”
  6. Put Dish into the Oven
  7. Set a timer for 30-35 minutes (If you would like, you can bake it for ½ or double the baking time if needed or desired)
  8. Once the Casserole is baked, take it out of the Oven
  9. Let it cool, and enjoy!

Cranberry Salad

After you’ve had enough of warm foods, why not try the Cranberry Salad? This Jell-O based ‘salad’ has cranberries, pecans, pineapples, and mini marshmallows; and is an amazing afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  1. 1 package of Cranberries – Washed and Chopped, blended in a Blender
  2. 1 ¼ cup of White Sugar
  3. 1 or ½ cup of Chopped Pecans
  4. 1 large can of Pineapple, crushed and with juice
  5. 1 large package of Raspberry Jell-O
  6. 1 container of Cool Whip
  7. 2 cups of Miniature Marshmallows

 

Cooking Instructions

  1. Put the Pineapples/Pineapple Juice in a pan on the Stove and bring to a boil (this makes the “Pineapple Mixture”)
  2. Grab the Jell-O pack and put it into a bowl
  3. Pour the “Pineapple Mixture” into the Jell-O and mix well (This makes the “Jell-O Mixture”
  4. Let the “Jell-O Mixture” cool for 5 minutes
  5. After letting the “Jell-O Mixture” cool, put in 1 cup of Mini Marshmallows and mix until melted and then wait 5 minutes
  6. After waiting for 5 minutes, pour in the remaining cup of Mini Marshmallows and mix until melted
  7. Pour in the White sugar and mix well
  8. Let cool until the bowl is “cooler” to the touch
  9. Add the Cool Whip, Cranberries, and Pecans and mix
  10. Put the bowl into the Fridge for 3 hours and then enjoy!

Banana Bread

Next we have my Grandma’s famous “Banana Bread”. Mmmmmm… this banana based bread is one of the best things to eat in the Fall. Nevermind bread; banana bread is delicious, warm, and smells AMAZING!

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups of Flour
  2. 1 teaspoon of Baking Powder
  3. ½ teaspoon of Baking Soda
  4. ½ teaspoon of Salt
  5. 1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract (Optional)
  6. ¼ cup of Buttermilk (Optional)
  7. ½ cup of Butter
  8. 1 cup of White Sugar
  9. 2 Eggs
  10. 1 cup of Mashed Bananas (2 ½ Bananas)

 

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your Oven to 350 degrees, Fahrenheit
  2. Get a bowl and mix the Butter and the White Sugar
  3. Get the bowl and beat in the Eggs
  4. In the bowl, add the Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Salt, mix
  5. If you would like, you may add the Vanilla extract and the Buttermilk at this point and mix
  6. Add the mashed Bananas and mix (this makes the “Banana Mix”)
  7. Pour in the “Banana Mix” into a greased pan and cover it with aluminum foil
  8. Put the pan into the Oven and Bake for 40-50 minutes, then take off the foil and baking it for another 10-20 minutes
  9. Take the pan out of the Oven
  10. Let it cool, and then enjoy!

These recipes are fun, exciting to make, and a great tasty reward. Not only can they serve as a delicious part of your day, but they are an entertaining experience to have with the family. Just make sure the flour doesn’t poof out on you!
