iThanksgiving
iThanksgiving
In my family, they biggest part of the Thanksgiving Celebration, is the food. See, my
mother is the best cook, in the family, so everyone just leans on her to cook all of the food. But
now every family brings a few dishes, so that my mom does not have to cook all of the food. It
is a tradition for everyone single family (Which is about six different families) to have
Thanksgiving at my Uncle Van’s house. Before anyone can even eat anything, we must pray.
There isn’t a tradition on who prays over the Thanksgiving meal. Last year, my uncle, Uncle
Byron prayed over dinner, but the year before last, my Uncle Van prayed over the Thanksgiving
meal. I guess, all of the Uncles pray over dinner, maybe this year my dad will do it, since he is an
uncle. The thing I like most about Thanksgiving; is that it is always different. You cannot get
bored, or expect, the same thing, year after year, because we always change it up. We might
play games, talk about what we are thankful for, but you can always expect a long conversation
between the adults. Every event that involves my family is really strange. They don’t really plan
for anything, but it always seems to turn out perfectly imperfect. And that’s what thanksgiving
is to me, not the food that people put on the table, not the games that we play, not even the
long everlasting conversations; it is about what we are thankful for. I cannot speak for everyone
but, I am blessed to have such a perfectly imperfect family, and I look forward to
iThanksgiving!!!
