I was on a bike ride with my 2 sisters and my dad in Big Bend, Texas. I was at a ranch staying for the week. After we left, we rode for an hour. There was a very steep hill we came upon, my dad and older sister went ahead to make sure it was safe while leaving me and my younger sister to stay behind. We waited for about 30 minutes and then we saw them coming back. They both looked scared and startled. “What’s wrong?” I asked. My dad looked at me and said, “did you guys call for me?” “What?” I said. My dad replied, “I heard 2 girls calling for me saying ‘Dad…come play with us.'” I felt a shiver and said, “we never said anything.” He replied in a scared manner, “How about we go now?” and we all agreed. I looked over my shoulder and saw it. 2 little girls standing and waving. I heard a whisper “good bye.” And we pedaled away.

Curtis Bamber, Editor-In-Chief
My name is Curtis Bamber, and I’m a senior here at iUniversity Prep. This is my 6th year both at the school and the newspaper! This 2025-2026 school year I will be your Editor-In-Chief at iHoot! I am originally from Australia, but moved to Houston, Texas, 10 years ago. I have had a fantastic time and I am fortunate to be in the position I am today. Outside of school, I am involved in various extracurricular activities, but I focus on aiding my family’s non-profit organization called MORE Possibilities. MORE strives to bring adults with IDD (Intellectual Development Delays) together, with the primary goal of creating a community for all. I am also very passionate about working out. For the past five years, I have been training early in the morning close to every day with my father. Working out has become one of my favorite activities that I find myself doing as I not only get to push my own limits, but I also get to spend more time with my father. I am constantly working on myself and thinking about different ways that I can improve myself. I am very excited to be one of the leaders here at iHoot again, and I can’t wait for what this next year has in store for all of us.
