In 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison became the first African American woman to go into space aboard the space shuttle Endeavor. During her 8-day mission she worked with U.S. and Japanese researchers, and was a co-investigator on a bone cell experiment.
There were many African Americans who paved the way, for the African Americans today. Some might have, protested against the acts of racism, or they could have made a difference by teaching becoming the first black person to become a lawyer like John Mercer Langston. Today life is much easier, and less agresive, but they’re are still things that need a change. What will you do?
