At Age 16
Incredible Accomplishment of Madi Davis
At the age of 16, what can you say you accomplished? For 16-year-old Madi Davis from McKinney Texas, making it in the top 7 of the popular fox network show “The Voice” is already part of her list of accomplishments.
At the age of 16, Madi Davis is already an inspiration and already a star after competing on the fox’s television show “The Voice”. The voice is a music competition like The X factors and American Idol, only instead of judging by appearance and looks, it’s all about the voice of the contestant. When auditioning the judges can’t see you and only when they want you, do they turn around (known as the blind audition).
Madi Davis, for her blind audition, did an acoustic version of none other than Carol King’s “It’s Too Late”. The unique take on a Carol King classic led to Pharrell Williams and Quinn Stefani wanting Madi on their team.
After choosing Pharrell as her coach, nothing stopped the young singer from adding her own style to 80s classics ranging from Fleetwood mac’s Songbird to Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
Her arrangements of the classic got her far, and her unique Celine Dion style voice led her all the way to the semi-finals.
Though making it to the instant save (3 singers compete to be the final person saved in competition), Madi was unable to make it to the finals. Regardless of no longer being part of the competition, her music, her style, her arrangements have been heard and she can only grow now.
From small town McKinney (not Kentucky Pharrell), and only being 16, her journey has just begun, and her list of accomplishments will only grow.
