Converse

Imagine this: you’re in a dire situation, say, a zombie apocalypse. You’re running from danger,

sweat pouring down your face and drenching your shirt and you can barely continue. Your

tennis shoes have rubbed blisters on the heels of your feet but as soon as you make a sharp

turn the sole of your shoes split! As you sigh, you think “I†should†have†gone†with†ConverseÆ”

As should everyone.

Converse is a classic shoe brand and in 1941, Converse produced shoes for the military. Now

flash forward to 2016 where Converse has produced limited edition shoes for iconic bands and

artists like the Gorillaz, Green Day, Wiz Khalifa, and Nirvana. Even Dr. Seuss and Andy Warhol

have their own shoe line! It’s been rumoured that Converse’s skull and snake design on their

new All Star ’70 Souvenir Jacket Collection was based on the Dark Mark from Harry Potter.

Converse is currently in the middle of a legal battlefield. They’ve sued 31 companies including

Walmart, Ed Hardy, Skechers, KMart,

and Ralph Lauren for copying their highly recognizable

design. Converse lost the lawsuit against Skecher’s Twinkle Toes , but they won against

Walmart. Ralph Lauren agreed to destroy their knockoffs but the legal battle isn’t over.

Converse, in my opinion, are just generally attractive shoes. They match with everything no

matter what color you get and they’re extremely comfortable. If you’re me, you’ll vouch for a pair

of original Converse. My All Stars are black with black racing stripes, white eyelets, white laces,

white stitching, and a black floral design inside the shoe.

The only thing I would complain about would be how uncomfortable Converse are at first. They

are definitely a shoe you will need to break in at first, and though they don’t rub blisters on the

back of your feet, they do tend to slide up and down with your foot as you move. About a year

ago when I got my first pair I was a little concerned with the size. They looked too short but

since I had seen so many people with their Converse I decided to tough it out though it turned

out they were perfect. They don’t add much to your height so if you’re looking for a flat shoe

they should be your first choice.

Overall Converse are lightweight, attractive and comfortable shoes. The average price for a pair

of converse is $50-$75 (though it’ll be more expensive if you’re looking for special edition shoes)

and I think they’re definitely worth it. I’ve been wearing the same pair of Converse for close to

two years almost every day and I haven’t had a single problem with them. They will take a

beating, survive perilous washings and can be cleaned easily with a simple cotton pad and nail

polish remover. Save yourself the extra money on expensive running shoes and buy Converse,

you’ll certainly get better quality out of your shoes!
