THE MANDELA EFFECT
The Mandela effect is a conspiracy theory that has recently become very popular. It basically implies that the reason millions of people vividly remember things that didn’t happen is because of someone time traveling, and making a mistake that would change small details of the future. The Mandela effect gets its name from Nelson Mandela, because millions of people all have the same memory of Nelson Mandela dying while in prison, when he never did.
Some examples of the Mandela effect are: “Mirror Mirror on the wall” was never that, it has always been “Magic mirror on the wall”. The TV show and books “The Berenstein Bears” has always been “The Berenstain Bears” even though many people vividly remember it being different. The song from Mr Rodgers Neighborhood was never “Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood”, it has always been “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood.” These changes are very small, and some people think that maybe we just heard or saw things wrong, but many other people believe different. You decide for yourself.
