Keselowski celebrating a win at Atlanta in March

Brad Keselowski is coming into Homestead on Sunday as the underdog to win the championship.  He has had a lot of speed on short tracks and restrictor-plate tracks this year, but has struggled on intermediate tracks similar to Homestead.  He has a less-than-stellar average finish of 15.9 at Homestead, and only 3 top 10’s in 9 starts at the track.  But, Penske Racing will put all the resources they have into Brad’s car on Sunday at Homestead, so he will probably have a very fast car.  Keselowski won the title in 2012, and has come close to repeating the last 3 years. He won at Talladega in October to advance to the Round of 8 in the playoffs, and consistency was the key in the Round of 8 that got him here.  His team now needs to take that next step to where they can run towards the front, because if they want to win a title, they must run up front.
