The Cotton Bowl, which will play host to the 2020 Winter Classic

Attention all hockey fans! 2020 is going to be a big year in hockey history. In Dallas, Texas, at the Cotton Bowl stadium, NHL is having their very first southern Winter Classic in Texas. Most Winter Classics are held in the north, so there were a lot of raised eyebrows in the hockey league because they moved the event to the south, a region with teams that have never played in the Winter Classic. Give a warm welcome to the new teams playing: the Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators!

The Bridgestone Winter Classic is the National Hockey League’s annual New Year’s Day game held in an outdoor arena. The teams are both very excited and honored to be a part of such a big event. Recently, Ben Bishop, the goalie of the Dallas Stars, said that when he joined the Dallas Stars he never thought that they would take him to the Winter Classic–but he was very happy they did. This is the 12th year for the Winter Classic. This means that families and friends all gather and watch it as a tradition. Many people in Texas and Tennessee are very excited to watch their home teams compete. Tickets are on sale right now!

The Cotton Bowl holds 92,000 people in the arena, but tickets will sell out fast since this is the first one ever in Texas. The longer you wait to buy your tickets, the more you will pay. The price for a ticket ranges from three hundred dollars to three thousand dollars, depending on where your seat is. I am so excited to watch the game! This is big news; make sure to get your tickets now! Go Stars!
