HALLOWEEN
The decorations come up, the costumes come out, and the kids’ imaginations run wild
“What should I be? What can I wear? How should my hair be styled?”
The planning begins weeks, months ahead of time to make sure everything’s just right
It may seem silly for so much work to go into one night
But those are the memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime
Because you’ll blink and suddenly realize that years have flown by
Not been giving a second thought about what you’ll wear or who you’ll be, for years
But instead passing out candy or Netflixing a movie that will invoke the most fear
Still too young to go to parties, but too old to go trick or treating, how I hate this age in between
It makes me wish I could turn back the clock to a simpler time when I truly enjoyed Halloween
