THANKSGIVING RECIPES OUT OF THIS iUNIVERSE
It is that time of the year again, and there are a lot of people, who want to bring something new to the table. There is one thing to be creative, but is there such a thing as too much? Would you rather have your plan pumpkin pie, and mash potatoes, or would you want to try something different? If you do want to try new and original thanksgiving dishes? Here are a few exotic recipes to keep in mind:
Deep Fried Oreos
Ingredients
1 (20 ounce) package Oreo cookies
2 cups Bisquick
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
3 teaspoons oil
Vegetable oil (enough for deep frying)
Preparation
1). Blend Bisquick, eggs, milk, and 3 tsp oil until smooth.
- Preheat your deep fryer to about 375°F (use a thermometer if you wish to deep fry in a pan).
- Dip the cookies in the batter mixture until totally covered and then place in the hot oil (cookies will float).
- Keep checking and turn over the cookie when bottom side of Oreo is brown.
- Keep a close watch because it only takes a short time to brown.
- Remove cookies and eat warm.
Crispy Fried Pickles
Ingredients
Oil
10 pickles (whole or spears)
1/2 cup flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon seasoning, blend (Montreal Steak Spice, but Mrs. Dash or similar product will work)
Preparation
1).Heat oil.
2).Remove any excess liquid from pickles by blotting on paper towel.
3).Place flour in a plastic zip top bag and add pickles, shake well to coat.
4).Beat Egg and 1 Tbsp. of water together in a bowl.
5).Combine Bread Crumbs and Seasoning in a second zip top bag.
6).Take 1 floured pickle and dip into egg mixture. Shake lightly to remove excess egg and place in Bread Crumbs. Shake Bag.
7).Repeat for all pickles.
8). Fry until golden brown.
9).Serve with Ranch Dip
Pink Potato Salad
Ingredients
4 medium potatoes, peeled, boiled and diced
2 carrots, peeled, boiled and diced
1 onion, diced small
1 (15 ounce) can diced beets
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
1).Drain beets and combine all ingredients and mix together.
2).Refrigerate until chilled.
3).You can also use fresh beets- just boil and dice, but this will add to the cooking time.
4).Serve and Enjoy!
