iTHANKSGIVING
Ms. Jessica Lee
Since my oldest daughter, who is now 8, was born we have had the same Thanksgiving tradition. We will load up our car and head to Houston where my entire family lives. On Thanksgiving day we head to my sister in law’s parents for Thanksgiving dinner. There are about 40 people who show up. It’s crazy over the last 8 years we went from having only a handful of kids there to now the kids pretty much out number the adults. We will start by watching the Thanksgiving day parade followed by whatever football game is on. After having a delicious lunch, there is always some kind of board game to be played. The kids are all outside running around and playing in the huge field surrounding the house. It is a fun-filled day with family and extended family. That evening we will go out and check out some of the stores that open up on Thanksgiving to just get out of the house:). The next day we continue our Thanksgiving celebration. My parents always start the day by having all the grand kids pose for their Christmas card. We now have 5 grandkids. Let’s just say the perfect Christmas card picture is a bit of a “fun” challenge. At some point we will venture out to the mall and ask ourselves why we torture ourselves with this crowd. That evening we will have a family dinner followed by a game night.
Thanksgiving is such an awesome family time in our house and our tradition is strong.
