Flight of the Basketball Player

Shoes tied, socks tight, palms sweaty, eyes heavy,

Only one goal in sight.

The dribble on the floor mimicking his own heart.

The jump, the flight, the airless feeling of being free, hands meet metal as the time stops, ball in the hoop, a goal we won.
