The Patchwork Girl of Oz
A Wonderful Tale from a Wonderful World
Hey again Owls!
(See, told ya I’d work on it!)
So this week I have another theater story for you! By the time you see this article, it will be too late to see the show, but I can still tell you the story of The Patchwork girl! This is one of many books in the Oz series!
It all begins with Dorothy, played by myself, telling how Oz has been cut off from the rest of the world, and Glinda explaining that Ozma is now the ruler of OZ, and has made Dorothy a princess. Cut to Ojo the Unlucky telling his Unc Nunkie he wants to the leave the blue forest and find a better place to live in Oz.
They set off and stop at Unc Nunkie’s old friend Doctor Pip’s house. Doctor Pip is a crazy magician/scientist and his wife Margolette wants a servant. They bring a patchwork doll to life to be a servant for them, but the doll accidentally pours the liquid of petrifaction on Unc Nunkie and Margolette!
The Patchwork girl also spills the extra powder of life on a mermaid statue and a phonograph, causing both to come to life. Doctor Pip explains that they must get the ingredients to reverse the spell. Along the way they find Bungle, a cat made of glass, The Woozy, a kind beast, and The Scarecrow and Tin Man. After a wacky adventure, Ojo reverses the spell and becomes Ojo the lucky!
As you can see, it is quite the wonderful tale. Above I have a cast picture!
