Hey Owls!

It’s Madison again here and with the Christmas Cheer!

Alright, now that I have infected you with the Christmas cheer, too, it’s time for a story! Get comfy, ‘cause this is a good one.

This one comes from Germany, a very very long time ago. A mother is running around the house cleaning up the mess and preparing for christmas eve. Two small spiders are sitting in the corner of the room, and she chases them up to the attic. The father brings in the tree and they all decorate it to be the most beautiful tree ever seen. It is truly magnificent. The spiders watch from a small crack in the ceiling, enchanted by the paper ornaments and the candles that light it. The family goes to bed, tired and ready for tomorrow’s festivities. The two spiders, who just can’t help themselves, descend from the ceiling to have a look at the tree. They run and play on the branches, and marvel at every ornament. After they have seen every inch of the glorious tree, they retire to the attic. Saint Nicholas arrives and takes a look at the beautiful tree, now covered head-to-toe in spider webs. He smiles at how much fun the two spiders had, but doe not want the family to be angry. So, he waves his arm, and with the Christmas magic, he turns the spider webs to silver. The family is delighted the next morning to see the shining tree.

Thus beginning the tradition of tinsel. Hope you enjoyed this one and have a happy holiday season!

Madison, Signing off!
