BRANSON MO

Ever since I started at iUP my family has taken it as an opportunity to travel more. One of our favorite places to visit is Branson, Missouri, especially in the fall around Halloween. During our trip to Branson this year we had to adjust to the new world, but what has changed about Branson? They are dealing with COVID-19 kind of like we are in Texas, as there is a mask mandate and everything is at reduced capacity. Even though the world is changing, there is still a plethora of fun things to do in this little town.

Our favorite activity is to visit Silver Dollar City. It is a beautiful amusement park with vendors of local makers and amazingly tall roller coasters, all with their own story. My favorite ride is a steep twisting and turning ride called the Time Traveler. We also go when they are having a special fall festival. This year it was named Pumpkins in the City, where they have pumpkins all across the park and carved pumpkins in all shapes sizes and styles. You do have to wear a mask unless you are eating while in the park, but between you and me I’d rather wear a mask because my thin Texas skin gets cold and a mask keeps my face warm.

Believe me there is so much more to do than just Silver Dollar City. You can go to museums and restaurants on the strip. You can go shopping at the Branson Landing that is home to old shops, like Dicks 5 and 10 or new and modern ones, like H&M and a large Bass Pro Shop. Branson is a family friendly town with something fun for everyone.

So if your family has the opportunity to take a little trip I highly recommend visiting here.
