IDK HOW-ANTICIPATED ALBUM NOW OUT!
It’s Music To The Ears Of iUP… Go Check Out Razzmatazz Today!
On August 5, 2020, fans of I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME were ecstatic to hear the announcement for the debut album Razzmatazz. So how is it? And what is this newly emerged band all about?
Named after a line from Back to the Future, I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME (Idkhow) is a fairly new band heavily inspired by ’70s and ’80s music. The group includes bassist and lead singer Dallon Weekes and drummer Ryan Seaman. With the release of their debut EP 1981 Extended Play in 2018, they gained quite a following of fans who were all very anxious to hear more from them. The next year they released a Christmas EP titled Christmas Drag and finally on October 23, 2020, released their long-awaited debut album, Razzmatazz. The album includes many songs that the band had played in their live shows, like Lights Go Down and Nobody Likes The Opening Band, and one re-recorded from the two members’ previous band, The Brobecks, called Clusterhug.
Idkhow has a very mysterious and complicated fictional background that they still have yet to explain completely. But with the music videos taking place in different decades and the movie they’re named after, it’s safe to say that they are most likely time travelers, which can be heard in their music as they find inspiration in anything from Queen in the 1980s, to Ima Robot in the early 2000s, to The Inkspots in the 1930s. In their new album, they take all of these influences and add in a sort of 80s spin on everything that makes their style something really unique and refreshing.
So, if you’re a fan of 80s media and fun mysteries, then you’re sure to like idkhow. Long time fans of the band can expect to hear the same quality of great music in the new album, as they have in everything idkhow has put out so far. As for me personally, I think songs such as Leave Me Alone are great because they lean into the fictional story behind the band, as well as relatable feelings. And just like me, iUP students of all ages can admire the soft coming of age messages in some songs and parents can relive the nostalgia of their childhood with all the retro sounds and themes. You can listen to Razzmatazz anywhere you find music available now!
