The Super Bowl is one of the biggest games in sports and as the late-season comes around, many iUP students are asking the question, “Who will win the Super Bowl?” With all the teams battling it out now for a playoff spot they then set their hopes to later have a chance of winning the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is not too far away, and many people are thinking about which team will take the title home. With all these teams trying their hardest to win, which team will end up on top?

What is the Super Bowl?

Much like other sports, the NFL has a final game to end the year and win it all. This is called the Super Bowl, and it consists of the last two teams from the playoffs playing against each other for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. It is one of the most popular sporting events and is also known for its famous halftime show and funny commercials. This one-of-a-kind game is hosted every year, normally on the first Sunday of February. However, this year the Super Bowl is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2022.

Leading teams of the NFL

Many teams are fighting for the Lombardi Trophy, but which teams are the most likely to win it? One of the most popular teams is the reigning champs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Brady. Tied along with the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buccaneers are ranked alongside the top teams in the NFL and some of the most voted teams to win the Super Bowl.

iUP Students Predictions

With the regular season coming to an end, I asked iUP students what their thoughts and predictions were on which team will win the super bowl. With 22 people answering the form, the team that won over iUP students was the Dallas Cowboys with 8 people voting for them to win. A close 2nd place was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 6 votes for them to win the super bowl. I also asked students to explain why they thought that these teams would win. The most popular answer for students who thought that the Cowboys were going to win, was because of their quarterback, Dak Prescott. Most students went into detail saying that the Cowboys will win because of their team skills and how talented some of their players are. A great example of this was Yazid Martinez’s explanation of why they thought the Cowboys would win the Super bowl.

“I think that we will win because we finally have a chance to have Dak Prescott play this season, and with his natural leadership skills, great sportsmanship, quick thinking, and natural plays, we have a shot at winning this year.” – Yazid Martinez

Overall, the Dallas Cowboys were the most voted team that iUP students predicted to win the super bowl with 36.4% of people who voted in the form choosing them.
