In my opinion, dogs make better pets than cats. Cats are very independent and do not demand a lot of attention. Cats aren’t as dependent on their owners either as they seem to be happy with a little bit of food, water and a window. A dog becomes your companion reason for the phrase man’s best friend! I believe my dogs can pick upon my emotions. If they sense that I am sad or upset then they will stay extra close to my side. They can suspect when I may be in need of a little comfort and attention where as my cat could care less. My cat is sassy and will swat at me for no apparent reason. I can expect nothing but kisses and hugs from my dogs. I think having a dog offers the owner a sense of protection too. I can feel safe at home with my dogs. I do not have that same feeling given the situation that I would be home alone with my cat. To sum up, I believe dogs are better pets than cats.
