Things to do that will cure your boredom

Boredom is something we all experience, and it can get annoying! Especially during quarantine. Whether you’re done with school-work early, have nothing to do on the weekends, or just out of ideas, nobody likes being bored. Now, I know if you have gone up to your parents and told them you were bored, they probably responded with “Go read a book,” or “Go play outside.” Well, this article will give you plenty of ideas on what to do when  you’re bored!

Bored At Home

One solution to your boredom would be to make a boredom jar. Cut little strips of paper and write some things to do when you are bored. Then, put them inside the jar for when you get bored. Pick a slip of paper and do the activity on it. Here are some ideas of what to put in your boredom jar:

  • Bake
  • Cook
  • Draw
  • Ride a bike
  • Take a walk
  • Make a play
  • Facetime a friend
  • Create a vision board
  • Try to persuade your parents to let you do something fun
  • Create a slideshow about anything
  • Work ahead

 Bored on the Weekends

The key to solving weekend boredom is making plans. This could be

seeing friends, going to a restaurant, going to the park, seeing a movie, going to the mall, or visiting a fun place.

  • Picnic in the park, or maybe even your own backyard
  • Make your family lunch or dinner
  • Reorganize room
  • Reach out to friends and set up facetime schedule
  • Look for your favorite things on Amazon
  • Research a topic
  • Clean out your closet or room

Try to think about what you can do when you get bored, and get creative! Maybe you want to plan your dream birthday, or get started on a wishlist. Maybe you want to make a bucket list, or go on a bike ride!

Boredom is constant, but not forever. There is always something you can do to stop it! Even though sometimes boredom can get annoying, there are many things to do when you’re bored! It doesn’t have to be anything big. Maybe drawing or riding a bike helps. Sometimes you have to get creative and try!
