PREVENTING ANIMAL HOMELESSNESS

PREVENTING ANIMAL HOMELESSNESS

Did you know that homeless animals outnumber homeless people 10-1? Animal shelters are forced to put down thousands of animals a day because the shelters are getting too full. But…Did you also know that one animal can save the rest? Just by adopting one dog or cat you are saving other animals from being put down. The animal that has the   highest rate for being homeless is the cat. That means that Simon has a 1-in-4 chance of survival. Also, another way to prevent animal homelessness is to take your strays in and get them spayed and neutered. Yesterday I was walking in my backyard and I found 3 kittens about 3 weeks old. We quickly put an ad on Craigslist and got 2 of them adopted (one of them was sick), and those people were the reason that those 2 kittens have a happy home and they will probably live a long and fulfilling lives. Want to do the same thing they did? Adopt an animal instead of buying them!

Did you know that most animals go to shelters that euthanize the animals? My local animal shelter just got rid of a rule here where if an animal hadn’t been adopted, than it is euthanized. But now, we have several no-kill shelters here in Kerrville. More than 35,000,000 people save 80% of animal in shelters every year. So please, when you want a new animal, go to the shelters or the pounds. You could save Simon, Kimber, Taco and Zack’s life. JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ANIMAL HOMELESSNESS. ADOPT TODAY.
