EDWARD WINS TOYOTA OWNERS 400

Took the Win in Last Lap Pass

Carl Edwards has won back-to-back races for the 6th time in his career after picking up career win #27.  He made an aggressive move on teammate Kyle Busch in turns 3 and 4 on the last lap, almost spinning Busch, to win the race.  Edwards led more laps than any other driver, leading 151 of the 400 laps.  The race featured 23 lead changes, the most at Richmond since 2007, with 8 drivers leading laps.  The race was scheduled for Sunday afternoon for the first time since 1997, and has been Saturday night, but was rain delayed in 2015 and was run on Sunday afternoon.  “Kyle’s an amazing teammate, and it’s like he got really slow at the end,” Edwards said in Victory Lane.  “Something happened that last lap.  It was like his rear tires went off or something.”  “Our Banfield Camry was real awesome today,” Kyle said.  “We had a great race car.  My guys made some awesome adjustments to it.  It was really good for us to have an opportunity to run and race for the win like that.”
