The NBA had a great opening week with a lot of competitive basketball.  Two superteams went down in upsets, as teams no one expected to be good are surprising the league, and one superstar player wants out.  Here’s a recap of NBA Opening Week 2017.

Eric Bledsoe, the superstar point guard of the Phoenix Suns, wants out of Phoenix.  He posted on his Twitter account, “I don’t wanna be here.”  on Sunday.  The tweet came just hours before it was announced the head coach of the Suns, Earl Watson, was being fired.  Suns GM Ryan McDonough said in response, “I was certainly surprised by it and disappointed by it. I think Eric’s a good person. I think he’s unfortunately gotten some bad advice and is listening to the wrong people. I think generally, any time you sign a contract, it doesn’t only work one way. It works both ways, and for a guy with years on his contract to say or intimate he didn’t want to be here anymore, I didn’t find that to be appropriate, and I think if he says he wants to be a leader, that’s the opposite of what a leader does and the opposite of what leadership is. So I think that’s all I’m going to say about that.”  Bledsoe is a two time all-star.  Here are three possible trades for Eric Bledsoe.

Bucks:Thon Maker, Greg Monroe, Matthew Dellavadova to Suns, Eric Bledsoe to Bucks

Nuggets:  Emmanuel Mudiay, Kenneth Faried to Suns, Eric Bledsoe to Nuggets

Cavaliers:  Iman Shumpert, Ante Ziczic, 2021 protected first-round pick to Suns, Eric Bledsoe to Cavs

The Mavericks were defeated by the Golden State Warriors 133-103 on Monday night.  The Mavs are 0-4, but rookie Dennis Smith Jr. looks to be the future of the NBA.  In his debut against the Hawks, he became the youngest player to score a double double in his debut, scoring 16 points and dishing out 10 assists at just 19 years old!  The Mavs lost to the Hawks 117-111.
