OVER THE GARDEN WALL: BENEVOLENT SISTERS OF CHARITY

New graphic novel that provides escape for iUPrep students out now!

With school starting fairly recently, it’s easy for students to get swept up in grades and assignments, making them stressed and busy. We all need a chance to escape from time to time and with Autumn in full swing, a great show to get wrapped up in is Over The Garden Wall.

Over The Garden Wall is a cartoon miniseries, originally airing on Cartoon Network in 2014. In the show, Wirt and Greg, two step-brothers, find themselves trying to find their way home in a strange forest called the Unknown. They meet a cast of characters and go on a wide variety of adventures, showing the fairy-tale-like world they are lost in. The show in its entirety is ten episodes long and it managed to enrapture a large audience with its wonderful characters, mysterious atmosphere, and fantastic plot in such a short runtime. Although the show tells a complete story, it leaves a lot of unanswered questions about its world and the characters in it. Luckily, fans who were left wanting to know more got a few comic book runs, further exploring the storylines presented in the show. And they continue now as a new graphic novel called Benevolent Sisters of Charity has just been released! The graphic novel is a continuation of the show and follows the same main characters taking refuge in a mysterious woodland hospital, where they discover that they are the only ones there and that they may not be able to leave. The book is written by Sam Johns and illustrated by Jim Campbell, who has illustrated many other Over The Garden Wall comics in the past. Fans can hope to expect the same level of comedy and suspense in the Benevolent Sisters of Charity now available! If you’ve never seen the show, now is the best time to watch it! The atmosphere captures the feeling of autumn and Halloween magnificently. It may even be helpful to take your mind off of things in stressful times.
